Fishing Reports

  • Tony is here with the Searles family this weekend. We welcome them for the 12th year this Memorial weekend. Here he is with one of the smallies he caught in the Clementson Bay. My nephew Kole and son Nick also had luck with the smallies this weekend. You can see one of Nick's on the brag board.
River fishing has been quiet. Anglers have been pulling in some walleye and northern. They've said your best bet would be the shorelines right now, that's where they've been biting. Lake of the Woods has been a hot spot lately, lot of anglers are doing very well there! Hope your having a great weekend!

Sun has come out and the temps are getting higher. Water temperature is at 63 degrees and fishing is looking better. Art and some neighbor friends reeled in 9 walleye and 7 northern last night out of the river. They won't let me reveal their hot spot though! Have a great and safe memorial Day weekend!

Weekend was cooler. The wind yesterday had a bite to it. This week is exspected to warm up. Nick, my oldest, did catch a northern off the dock yesterday between projects we have going on at Clementson this week. The DNR nets seemed to have been pulled from the bay for the spring now and we've had anglers fishing the bay all weekend. Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend already and we do have one cabin left. The water level is still on the decline and water temps remain in the 50 degree range.

Well the season is finally here. The boys up here fished in different areas over opener hitting Red Lake, Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River. The Rainy gave up mostly northern for them. Weather was wishy washy, mainly cloudy and cooler. Things are looking up for this weekend! Water temp is increasing, last check at 59 degrees and the water level is back on the decline. Have a great day!

Opener is finally here! After yesterday I thought today would be a complete wash, but today it didn't rain! It was cloudy and only in the 50's, but dry. Had some reports back of reeling in a couple walleyes and northern so far but it's early yet. Let us know on the comment section how your opener went, we'd love to hear! With the recent rain the river has been rising again and the water temp was back down to 49 degrees today. For opener the DNR pulled the sturgeon nets from the bay. They will be setting their nets out again on Monday and continue for a short time. We'll let you know when they're finished for the spring. Have a great weekend!

Last couple days were very nice. We seemed to be able to dodge the forcasted rain too. With the warmer days the water temp rose again. Sitting at about 54 degrees at last check. Our weather is cooler today, 50's, and that's where it will stay for a few days. It's exspected to warm up this weekend for opener! With that being said I want to tell you all good luck this weekend and have a great time!

Here's one of the beauties Terry Larson caught last weekend. This one was 52". For more pictures the Larson party reeled in check out the Brag Board! We have some sturgeon anglers this weekend and I'll let you know how they do. My son Zack(6) caught 8 suckers the other evening which excited him but bummed out his older brothers! Water temp this week fell to about 50 degrees. After waking up to snow on Friday we finally got back to some beautiful weather yesterday. Today is expected to be nice as well. Don't forget opener is right around the corner! Give us a call we'd love to have you!

The Wolf party came in last night, said they reeled in 9 sturgeon, tagging one in the slot size. Weather was rainy and cooler for them and it looks like the next few days this cooler weather will hang on. The DNR is begining their annual survey of the bay and have asked anglers to fish sturgeon in the river only and not the bay to avoid getting tangled in their nets. However, you can still sucker fish at the rapids.
