Open water reached past Indus and is moving through Manitou now. Only 8 miles to Birchdale landing and 6 to Franz Jevne. There is already open spots at Franz Jevne. Water levels remain steady and warm sunny days continue! Not long now!

these pictures and the warm weather are really getting me pumped. better think about getting the rods and reels ready and the boat out of storage. Gail, do you have records of boats at birchdale or further by mid to late march? thanks for all your hard work and great photos and reports.
Is it actually open all the way to manitou or is this just the open spot below the rapids? Has anyone droped a boat in their yet?
Yes it is open to Manitou. We are not aware of any boats being landed there yet.
