It was a beautiful weekend to do some fishing
and we did just that! We seen all kinds this weekend too! From walleye (12-14″ with a biggest of 21.5″) a good size small mouth bass shown above and also some crappie! We don’t see them often!
Another group up this weekend were looking for big sturgeon and were not disappointed! They tagged 4 and caught and released many more
biggest for the group was 57″
we’re waiting on pictures to be emailed and will post asap!
I changed to spinners this weekend and was able to boat some walleye
my best color was a fluorescent yellow. Crawlers were best early and minnows worked best toward evening. Morning and evening fishing being best.
We are curious to see what the season will bring and also if it will come early. We had some very chilly mornings last week that will help cool water temp, not to mention spring was a very early season this year as well. We’ve heard rumor of some shiners being seen up by the gap recently but none at Clementson as of yet.
As you plan your fall trip we would like to note that there is quite a bit of road construction on hwy 11. They are working on an 18 mile stretch between Indus and Birchdale, work conitiues this year at the bridge over the Rapid River, and things are dug up pretty good right in front of us as well. All ramps are open but allow yourselves a little time to move slowly through the roadwork. Indus to Birchdale construction is said to be wrapped up about the middle of October.

We’re already heading into Labor Day weekend!
We got a full house this weekend so hopefully many upcoming great pics too! We got some looking for sturgeon and some for walleye and the rest looking for anything biting!
I myself have stocked up on my spinners and ready for walleye!
Although Friday may have a passing shower the rest of the weekend looks great!

Ever had one of those days where the person fishing in the same boat as you gets all the fish and you get to watch? That was my Saturday, lol! Weather was gorgeous though and walleye were biting. This 24 inch walleye was our (Rob’s) biggest, since I couldn’t catch a cold
He also limited with walleye ranging from 13-14 inches. Teri couldn’t get the walleye to bite but ended up with 4 sauger, you don’t see that often. It’s hard to say why I had trouble but here was the difference in how we were fishing…. I was using jigs (3/8oz is plenty) and they were using spinners. I should have switched, lol. They caught them on both crawlers and minnows and bright colors or just plain silver seemed to be best. Depth ranged from 18-19 feet.
Smallies were active along the shoreline this weekend as well.
Fall is quickly approaching and space is getting limited fast so if you haven’t made a reservation yet give us a call, we do have a few left
We spend a lot of time outside so please leave us a message or email, we check them throughout the day.

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend
July 1st the sturgeon season opened again until the end of September. As the summer wears on the bite gets better and better closer we come to fall.

Looking more like summer
rain isn’t as frequent and weather is getting hotter.
The fish go deeper the warmer the weather so look for deeper holes this time of year. A deeper spot in the Rainy will be around 25 feet give or take.

The 1 st day of summer is here, I hope the rain lets up because we’ve had plenty!
Fishing has been quiet except for the northern. They are usually active year round
Art caught a 38″ right the dock, but I had the camera out of town with me, oops.
Walleye are usually deeper this time of year and make you work a little harder in the river.
Crawlers are usually the best for bait this time of year and the sturgeon sure like them
