We're already getting calls about ice out and inquiries about any predictions. Well.. we're not sure. We do know this, last year the 1st boats pushed over ice at Birchdale on the 17th of March. Frontier was the 23rd. There's about 2ft of ice on the river in front of Clementson right now and ice continues up the river almost to International Falls. The highest temp we've had in nearly 3 weeks has been 8 degrees and every night falls in double digits below. BUT the weekend promises to be in double digits ABOVE zero. If we're on the upswing we could see progress. Not much snow to melt, maybe 6 inches. We will be posting ice out conditions daily when the river begins to open so keep your fingers crossed for WARM weather!
