Happy Groundhogs Day!

Good news, Puxatawney Phil did NOT see his shadow! Early Prespawn?
We'll be moving our icehouses in shallower this weekend, word has it larger walleyes are biting in shallower water, at least that's the overwhelming conclusion lately. Average depth for the larger ones has been approximatley 14ft. In fact a large walleye was just caught and released up by Birchdale recently and it was from the shallow water. Bitter cold temps that are only going to be colder the next couple of days have kept the bite quiet. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow night anyway once the houses are moved. I'll let you know how it goes. Being this is our 1st winter season being open we're intersested to see how the later icefishing on the river is, right before prespawn. First ice-out was fantastic! And word has it the later part of the ice season is pretty fantastic as well when the BIG walleyes start movng through again.
Don't forget to call about our cabin/icehouse special this month!!
