While fishing for walleye last night Art caught and released this 53" sturgeon. To his surprise it came up through the hole without a fight in a matter of seconds. This was caught on a gold jig. The colors bringing in the walleye last night were purple and pink colors. The other night the bite was slow but brought up some larger sizes, some over 19.5" to be released and some 18" keepers. Last night the bite was quicker with sizes ranging between 16" and 17". Ice last night on the river was approximately 7" thick. Yesterday and today have been pretty cold! It's 10:30am and it's still 4 below right now, not including wind chill. Tomorrow we're getting a break getting close to 30 degrees tomorrow and about 35 degrees Saturday.
